.October 22: Blame Sally at Cornerstone Sonoma

For the last eight months or so, Cornerstone Sonoma has been hosting acoustic concerts in an intimate setting befitting the word-of-mouth it’s generated around the county. This weekend, local house concert impresario Drew Pearce moves the whole operation to the (heated) outdoor barn to make room for an evening with Blame Sally. The four women of the Bay Area–based band are used to playing outdoors; their recent CD, Live at Stern Grove Festival, was recorded among the trees while opening for Joan Baez last year. Blame Sally’s music is a perfect fit for Cornerstone’s outdoor gardens, as well. San Francisco–themed songs like “Fillmore Street” are rich with piano flourishes and four-part harmonies, while traditional songs like “La Llorona” drip with passion and romance. Catch them when they play Friday, Oct. 22, at Cornerstone Sonoma. 23570 Arnold Drive, Sonoma. 8pm. $25. 415.706.3800.
