Looking for things to love about the North Mississippi Allstars? For starters, Cody and Luther Diskinson’s dad was Jim Dickinson, one of the greatest Memphis producers of all time who worked with the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and more. Secondly, their bassist Chris Chew plays his bass so high it’s ridiculous, the instrument nearly resting atop his sizable gut. But most importantly, their music is swampy, greasy and rattles the bones. If that’s not enough, the guys play a free noontime concert sponsored by KRSH-FM on Tuesday, March 8, at Hopmonk Tavern. 230 Petaluma Ave., Sebastopol. Noon. Free. 707.829.7300.
