.Sept. 18: Herbie Hancock at the Wells Fargo Center

Working alongside Miles Davis could be a career highlight for any artist, but jazz musician Herbie Hancock hasn’t let it define his career. Rooted in the early 1960s Blue Note era, Hancock’s presence has continuously lent influence over acoustic and electronic jazz, rock and blues. Hear his modern takes on “Maiden Voyage,” “Chameleon,” “Watermelon Man” and “Rockit”on Sunday, Sept. 18, at the Wells Fargo Center. 50 Mark West Springs Road, Santa Rosa. 8pm. $45–$65. 707.546.3600.
