.The Guerneville Flood Project: Rowboats at Abby’s Playland

Okay! This photo is sure to strike some memories. Shown here are residents row-boating their way to safety past the parking lot for Abby’s Playland. (Sorry for the poor resolution.

)We’re pretty sure that Abby’s Playland turned into either J’s Amusements, or possibly Pee Wee Golf. But we could be wrong. Was Abby’s Playland even in Guerneville? Does anyone remember? And what exactly was at Abby’s Playland?Does anyone remember rowing past Abby’s Playland?Let us know in the comments below. The Guerneville Flood Project is a week-long dive into the photo archives of the North Bay Bohemian. 1. I just noticed this and it’s a few years later (ahem!), but for the record, Abby’s Playland was owned by my grandparents, Ron and Lenora. It was in Guerneville, down by the river, and that location was its undoing with the floods. It had a super slide and lots of small rides. I got really good at Asteroids in their tiny arcade since they used to hand me rolls of quarters to play when I visited.
