Study, watch, and discuss six of the greatest romantic comedies from the Golden Age of Hollywood, including It Happened One Night, The Awful Truth, His Girl Friday, The Philadelphia Story, and Adam's Rib. Playfully explore method, metaphor, and meaning. Approach film via art, psychology, cultural history, philosophy, and myth. Class will meet in Emeritus Hall, Room 1691. No class on March 22.
