Congratulations to the 8th grade graduating class of West Marin School

When: Mondays-Sundays, 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Continues through July 1 2020

The eighth grade students of West Marin School made portraits of themselves in the style of Frida Kahlo, working in Gallery Route One’s AIS (Artists in the Schools) program. A continuing tradition this year the portraits are displayed behind the divided windows of GRO and on the gallery website. See go to Exhibitions then Current. Viewing the artwork of Frida Kahlo and writing a poem about themselves with the assistance of West Marin schoolteacher Julie Cassel, the students literally examine themselves using a mirror. After several lessons with AIS teacher Vickisa The students emerge with a sense of empowerment
