When: Sat., March 19, 3-4:30 & 8-9:30 p.m. 2016

A song cycle about the history and culture of sled dog mushing in northern Minnesota. Inspired by 19th century Ojibwe mail carrier, John Beargrease, who–with his sled dogs–delivered mail between Two Harbors and Grand Marais during winter months from 1880 to 1900, and by the spirit of the annual John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. Composed by Robin Eschner, 2014 McKnight Foundation Visiting Composer with the American Composers Forum. Song cycle includes ensemble pieces that will be performed by Take Jack and orchestra, plus Sonoma County's Kitchen Choir, directed by Sarah Saulsbury. Omid Zoufonoun, will conduct the concert.

Price: $20.00 - General, 15.00 - Students.
