We will: discuss type of yarn is appropriate for garment design, what type of yarn gives drape, substance, strength or texture and how to spin your yarn to achieve these characteristics; evaluate a fleece and select the best part; determine how to prepare the fiber for a particular garment through carding, flicking, or combing; discuss whether to mix fibers for softness or structure. Advanced class. Participants must know how to spin and ply, and the basics of knitting or crocheting.
