Geology of the San Andreas Fault

When: Sat., June 4, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. 2016

Instructor: John Karachewski Participants will view fault-related landforms and discuss plate tectonics, the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and natural hazards in the Bay Area. We will explore and take short hikes at Stinson Beach, near Five Brooks in the Olema Valley, along the Earthquake Trail near Bear Valley, and at Tomales Bay State Park – Millerton Point north of Point Reyes Station – for a total of about 4 miles on relatively flat trails.
