SLAMAZON Poetry Slam Featuring MK Chavez

SLAMAZON is an all women’s open mic and poetry slam with two rounds of competitive poetry and a nationally recognized poet to perform between the rounds. Performing is open to women, those who have identified as women and gender queer. Men welcome to attend! MK Chavez is the author of Virgin Eyes, Visitation, Next Exit #9 (with John Sweet) and Pinnacle. She is co-founder/co-curator of the Berkeley based monthly reading series Lyrics & Dirges and co-organizes the yearly Berkeley Poetry Festival.
