When: Fri., July 29, 6-7:30 p.m. and July 30-Sept. 4 2016
This exhibition is the result of a unique project by photographer Gary Kaplan who worked with Stephanie Hamilton-Oravetz to create a series of portraits related to her history of sexual abuse. Gary's portraits and Stephanie's narrative provide an artistic and educational bridge to understanding this difficult issue. This work illustrates the power of the visual arts in healing from trauma. The message is positive and strong: While the effects of child abuse continue, the ability to heal also continues. Gallery III, Sebastopol Center for the Arts, July 29 through September 4th.
